Anstey Garrick Green

I love working with colour. I make collages and 3D works which explore my fascination with colour combinations and patterns. I enjoy using a variety of materials, be it layers of felt, punched-out card circles, tissue paper, maps and the technique of encaustic which uses melted coloured waxes to give painterly effects. The results are often abstract however I also draw inspiration from nature and the landscape.

I have always had an interest in maps and in the ways in which information about people and their movement can be represented in clear but visually engaging ways. This influences my work, where shapes and colours may represent groupings of people alongside my intention to create a compelling composition.
Recently, I have been experimenting with colouring pencils to explore different mark-making techniques in my collages.
