LeeAnn Love
Grounded in my Scottish ancestry and my Southern United States heritage, my sustainability minded artwork draws upon the deep connections between land, lineage, culture, ecology, and belonging. My art practice is one of devotion, to the beauty and wildness of the natural world. Using both additive and subtractive processes in my paintings and printmaking, I investigate the intricate dialogue between layered color, linework, movement, and material viscosity. Each work is a culmination of the dance between methodical preparation, experimental technique, and intuitive mark making. I aim to capture the spirit of place, through cocreation with the Earth. My practice continues to cultivate a greater inclusion of ethically foraged pigments and botanical matter.
