Max Jaede

Max's current project explores the Forth through mapping and photography, tracing its multiple, partially overlapping uses and meanings. His digitally drawn map creates a patchwork of semi-transparent shapes that blur the boundaries of land and water, reality and cartographic representation. An accompanying series of photographs documents some of the many, sometimes unexpected, places named after the Forth, from Forth Carz to Forth Asbestos Services. Through these works, Max takes a sideways look at how maps shape our understanding of the world and our place within in.
