Sue Shields

Understanding landscape is integral to Sue’s practice. Her work usually tackles the elemental forces that shape our environment, the shapes and marks left by nature and people. Sue's often re-imagine and includes stories taken from lore, history and contemporary interviews: intertwining external real discoveries with what she imagines and creates internally. Sues work aims to illustrate how our existence is not separate from our natural environment and that our significance is ultimately dwarfed by it.
