Tapestry Weaving Demonstration

with Barbara Gardner Rowell

16th, 17th & 18th October

10am - 5pm

My creative practice explores narratives of identity, place and belonging.

I love the tactile experience of making with my hands, giving form to ideas.

Over the Art Route weekend I will be weaving the latest in a series of introspective portraits reflecting on the female experience of constructing identity through a life shaped by inequality and expectation.

The historical origins of tapestry weaving were in social and political commentary.

I find that working with traditional materials and tools in a slow process has a very grounding effect which provides balance in an uncertain, changing world.

No need to book this demonstration - feel free to turn up at any time during Dunbar Art Route!
