Astrid Trügg
In my work as a painter, I am inspired by the beauty in everyday objects, I create still life paintings that celebrate the subtle charm of familiar shapes and textures. I mix gesso and glue with pure mill-ground pigments like lapis lazuli to achieve vibrant, luminous colors that bring my compositions to life. This technique also allows me to scratch into the paint’s surface, creating intricate and tactile textures. I often incorporate collage elements by blending antique newspapers into my paintings. These fragments hold historical or personal significance, adding layers of meaning and narrative depth to my work. Alongside still lifes, I explore seascapes and harbours through color and texture.
