Delphine Ceramics

I am a ceramic maker working principally with black or terracotta clay. I throw or hand build with slabs of stoneware clay and decorate my pieces with white slip using a combination of techniques like inlay, slip washes, stencils and sgraffito. My decorations are often abstracted forms inspired by the natural world like flowers and birds. I like the contrast of black and white softened by the application of glaze. Sometimes I also leave some areas unglazed, rough or burnished, to create a matte finish.
I also use porcelain to create delicate items including Christmas decorations.
