Fiona Dean
Fiona Dean is a local artist who works from her home studio in Stenton. Working mainly in taxidermy and jewellery design.
After a degree in Fine Art Sculpture at Central St Martins London, she has developed a passion for science and the natural world. Fiona’s work has evolved by blurring the boundaries between these subjects.
Her art tries to untangle some of the psychological and biological questions between the two fields.
Her taxidermy work uses only gifted, naturally deceased and found animals, with a fondness for birds.
Fiona’s jewellery collection was born from a love of bones and casting. Using the lost wax process she creates a range of gold and silver pieces to be worn as modern day amulets.
