LeeAnn Page
Grounded in Scottish ancestry and Southern U.S. heritage, my expressive landscapes draw on the deep connections between land, lineage, culture, history, ecology, sustainability, and my place in both worldviews. My artwork serves as a practice of devotion, to the beauty and wildness of the natural world.
Using both additive and subtractive processes in my mixed media paintings and printmaking work, I investigate the intricate dialogue between layered color, linework, movement, and viscosity of materials. Each landscape is a culmination of the dance between methodical preparation, experimental technique, and intuitive mark making. I aim to capture the spirit of place, while also collaborating with the earth, through a greater inclusion of eco-friendly, natural pigments and inks.
