Sheena Phillips
‘I love the drama of the changing light.’
I am inspired by both land and sea. The changing shapes and bursts of colour and light mesmerise me. Sometimes I don’t know how the painting will turn out as the changes in light can excite a memory and take me down a different path.
I paint mostly in watercolour using a limited palette and look to convey a mood rather than an accurate representation on a scene. I enjoy passing on the techniques and knowledge of watercolour painting and ways of creating emotions that I have discovered over the years.
I have exhibited in the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour and have been included many times with a small number of other artists representing Scotland at “Fabriano in Acquarello”, Fabriano and Bologna, Italy then on to Fort Worth, Texas.
